1. What's your story? How did you get involved in modeling?
Hasana and Karinda Elliott are the Bay’s own NVUS TWINS. Growing up with the foundation of supportive and encouraging parents, they began their modeling debut at an early age, participating in local department stores’ fashion shows and print advertisements.
2.What projects have you been involved with?
The most recent projects would be the “Lunch,” featuring Ray J; "Get ‘em Girl Remix” video; “The Jacka” featuring Matt Black; "All Over Me” video; 2008 Summer Swimsuit & Lingerie Calendar shot by Maurice Chatman. Coming Soon: Sweet Dream Models CEO's Silk Magazine, Silk Dolls
The NVUS TWINS have appeared on MTV’s “Twin Switch”, Bailey Feat. J. Valentine, “U C IT” video, The Messy Marv, Guce, Feat. Clyde Carson, “So Hood” video, Heiroglyphics feat. Dan the Automator, "Don't Hate The Player Hate The Game" which are all currently airing on MTV Jams, as well as Dem Hoodstarz, “Grown Man” video, and Tony Vic’s “After Party” video. You can also find the NVUS TWINS on these Bay Area Artists' album covers: Verstyle presents, “Pretty Black” and TonyVic’s new album “Vic Story.”
The NVUS TWINS have been featured in several Bay Area Magazine Publications such as Shout, City Flight, Ruckus, and Hoodstars Magazine. We have been involved with several promotional groups throughout the Bay Area such as Grown & Sexy Clothing Reps., ICONZ Icandy Models, Official Hyphy Juice Girls, Chubby Greens Models, First Ladies Promotions, Urban Vintage Styling & Make Up, Bay Area Divas, and Sweet Dream Models.
They have worked with numerous designers from The Bay Area, creating exclusive relationships and participating in fashion show events with Latoya Skinner of Chan.nel Karama, Drea of House of Mamasan, Nicacelly, and Nikki of Live in Peace, as well as working with Sacramento-known Designers Mercedes of Benzo Couture Fashions, and Dee Aguilar. They have traveled from Sacramento to Las Vegas participating in photo shoots, with Bay Area known photographers such as Maurice Chatman, Kimara Dixon, D Ray, and world known photographer Michael Vincent, and have participated in many of his events.
3. Inspirations and Motivations?
We are inspired by each other. We are each others’ motivation and teammates. What better than to have than an identical twin that you can relate to, ask advice from, get honest opinions from, and work well with. We continue to motivate each other to do our best. We're Double the pleasure and a lot of fun to hang around. Every girl wishes they had a twin sister, and most times we can see the look of envy written all over their faces! That's why we call ourselves The NVUS Twins!
4. Do you have any advice for upcoming models just getting started?
This industry is cut throat. It's not all gold and glitter as it seems. Networking is always a plus, but at all times remain professional and be yourself! Modeling is not all that it perceives to be, however, it's something we enjoy doing for fun! Continue to stay true to yourself and your goals. We model, but we also have nursing careers, and own homes. Have something to fall back on.
